About Carlos Arias Delgado

Carlos Arias Delgado is a man of many interests. From leadership to science, Carlos makes sure to give every task his all.

Many readers may be familiar with “911”, the US emergency number. Until Carlos made it his mission to fix it, Venezuela did not have a functioning emergency response number. But thanks to his efforts, “171” can be dialed by anyone in Venezuela who is experiencing some type of emergency.

Mr. Delgado has played an important role in the implementation of efficient emergency response systems in Venezuela. He settled into this role because it merged his two main interests and backgrounds: the structure and leadership lessons he gained through past experiences with technology. His leadership experience gave his emergency response systems much needed organization, and the technological developments that he constantly sought out benefit the people of Venezuela greatly.

Delgado has a systems engineering background– he studied it at IPUFAS (El Instituto Universitario Politécnico de las Fuerzas Armadas Nacionales) in Caracas, for six years. He didn’t stop there, and went on teach courses at Metro University. These include an advanced course on systems implementation and a course on first aid and immediate care.

Carlos’s other interests fall nicely into his line of work, and make sense given his personal experience. He has special personal interests in Cosmology, quantum physics, and human health and well-being. Cosmology is the study of the origin and development of the universe, and seeks to uncover where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re headed. It’s particularly important because it is a science that concerns every single individual person. We are all connected in some way or another, if only by virtue of sharing the same space. As Carlos learns more and more about the interconnectedness of the Universe, he increasingly believes that we have a duty to help one another in the best way possible.
